 Be the reason a child goes to school.

Each of the children we work with are matched with a sponsor. Sponsored children receive healthcare, education, mentorship and social work services as well as all of their physical needs met. Tell a child they have a sponsor is like telling someone they won the lottery, it changes their life!

You can sponsor a child as a group, family or an individual! In the past we've had sponsors pay sponsorship fees as a birthday present to someone or for the holidays. 

Pricing

 

$1300

PER YEAR

Sponsorship to Uru Community Pre School students (age depending on how old the child he/she begins). This includes food, clothing, health insurance, structural repairs to his/her home, and basic social work services. This takes 4 to 5 years depending on the age that a child starts school.

PER YEAR

Sponsorship to Uru Community Pre and Primary School students (ages 6-15). This includes food, clothing, health insurance, structural repairs to his/her home, and basic social work services. This takes 7 years.

Sponsorship of secondary school student, providing all school supplies, uniform, room and board (In Tanzania, the best secondary schools have boarding facilities), health insurance and all school fees. This takes 4 years

PER YEAR

Sponsorship of a high school (advanced secondary school) student providing all school supplies, uniform, room and board (In Tanzania, the best secondary schools have boarding facilities), health insurance and all school fees. This takes 2 years.

 

$3000

PER YEAR

University level sponsorship, which covers tuition fees, room and board, basic phone and laptop, transportation to and from campus (off-campus living usually required), textbooks, printing and stationary, as well as health insurance. This takes 3 to 6 years depending on the university or course taken by a student

Here are some ideas on how to raise sponsorship money…

 

  • Host a bake sale

  • Organize a fun run

  • Provide a charity class (dance, art, music)

  • Hold a charity event (dinner, show)

  • For private schools: have a no uniform day for a small fee

  • Hold a car wash

  • Ask a local business to support your sponsored child

 

Sponsorship ranges from $1,200 to $3,000 a year (or $100-250 a month), depending on the age and educational level of the student.

Our goal is to follow each sponsored child all the way to university level. Sponsors are not committed to sponsorship for this whole time period, but are encouraged to continue their support. Sponsorship is renewed on a year-by-year basis.

Sponsors receive updates, pictures and letters throughout the year and all donations are tax deductible in the US and Canada.
